I am born 1971 in Raseborg, Finland, and since 2012 living and working in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse in Germany.
I finished the Master Programme at School of Photography, at University of Gothenburg in 2000. Since then I have been working as an artist and teacher. In 1998 together with Albert Braun, Marcus Lerviks and Simo Brotherus we founded the art-group FinnFemFel, and in 2003 I started the project “It’s better to build than to fade away” together with Martijn van Berkum.
I play with and question visible and non-visible structures, hierarchies, economical and political trends, and take use of common traditions and current phenomenon in my visual language to picture the banal and absurd in everyday life, public space, mainstream media, alternative societies etc.
1+n > 1 is a mathematical equation that very well explains my way of working – I like to collaborate or work in a group. I need to discuss, maintain a dialogue, share impressions and information to achieve something new, something more than I set out to do.
